Sir David Attenborough's 100th Birthday

Happy Birthday, Sir David Attenborough! ![]()
We had an amazing time celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, including sharing birthday cake and sending a birthday card to the man himself! To honour someone who has spent his whole life caring for our planet, we spent the day doing what he loves most—helping nature!
Our classes got busy planting wildflower seeds to help bees and butterflies, and we made beautiful nature art using leaves, petals and other natural treasures we found outside. We also created mini‑habitats around school so tiny creatures have new places to explore and call home.
One of the best parts of the day was watching our Eco Council in action! Wearing their trusty wellies, they rolled up their sleeves and cleaned out the school pond, making it a safer, happier place for wildlife. They also added a cosy new hedgehog hut, put up bird feeders, and planted special oxygenating pond plants to keep the water fresh for frogs, insects and other pond friends.
All these activities showed that, just like Sir David teaches us, even small actions can make a big difference.
By planting, creating, exploring and caring for our environment, we helped make our school grounds a better place for nature - and had lots of fun doing it! ![]()
