The Pupil Premium enhances opportunities for eligible children.

Pupil premium was introduced in April 2011 and is paid to schools as a grant. It is allocated to schools for each child who;

• is entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) or who has been eligble for FSM within the last 6 years;
• has parents who are currently serving in the armed forces;
• is in the care of the Local Authority or post adoption.

Redmile School is committed to ‘Narrowing the Gap’ between vulnerable pupils and their peers. The pupil premium will form a vital part of that process.

Provision will be made through:

• Supporting pupils’ access to education
• Supporting pupils’ access to the curriculum
• Alternative support and intervention where appropriate within the school environment.
